Jacqui & Al had their wedding at the Glazert in Lennoxtown. Not only was it close to home but the beautiful venue even has a pond with a bridge! I didn’t have an assistant with me for this wedding but fortunately everyone was very well behaved & everything was nearby so no running about required.
There were fireworks for Lucy & Alan at the fantastic Monachyl Mhor near Callander. This was an amazing venue complete with a rustic barn for the evening reception & meals, it even had views over Loch voil. Guests were treated to a fantastic night time fireworks display.
This March I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Kim & Eddie. It was a pleasure especially because I’ve known them both for many years. The beautiful Cruin on the west banks of Loch Lomond was their chosen venue. It was a great day, dry, bright & even warmish! I’ve known Kim & Eddie for a number of years so it was an honour to be asked to do the photography on their big day.
It was also a bit sad too as they’re heading off to start a new life in Spain.
Last weekend saw Jamie-Lee & Andrew’s Wedding at the beautiful Ingliston Country Club in Bishopton, Renfrewshire.
Although March weather can still be a bit cold, the sun shone all day making for some great shots. We were booked for a full day session which covers everything from bridal prep to the first dances in the evening.
The bride & her bridesmaids were staying overnight in the luxurious Ingliston wooden lodges so we managed to get some great natural & very relaxed pre wedding shots there.
We returned to Ingliston after the ceremony in Howwood where we continued with the photography, I got a great mixture of formal and informal shots which really captured all the atmosphere & happiness of the day.
Thanks very much to the bride & groom for making us feel so welcome & to the venue organisers for all their assistance.
My first wedding of 2016 got off to an early start with the wedding of Layne & Russell in the first week of a very cold February. Their wedding ceremony was at St John’s Church in Bathgate followed by the reception at The Vu, Bathgate.
Fortunately the weather stayed dry for the most part which allowed for some nice photo opportunities out on the small jetty in the grounds of The Vu, the weather didn’t hold long enough for family group shots outside and it started to rain, this lasted for the rest of the evening.
Again, fortunately, I had packed my portable studio set up for such
events. This allowed me to get studio style portraits of the wedding party in a quickly arranged clearing in the reception hall, these worked out well. There is a tight schedule for guests arriving then meal times etc at this venue, this is where experience & professionalism make sure I get the best shots I possibly can.
Bride & groom said they had a fantastic day & they certainly looked like they enjoyed it.
I’m Just catching up with this year’s wedding blogs. This is Laura & Craig who were married in early April this year at Ralston Golf Course in Paisley, Glasgow.
It was a fantastic day, very relaxed & everything ran smoothly despite the freezing cold weather, especially during the photos on the golf course but everyone looked great against a back drop of some early cherry blossom. Congratulations to you both and thank you for using Our Day Photos.
I like taking a mixture of both candid & formal shots at weddings, that way you get all the important guests that MUST be photographed & all the fun ones too. The candid aspect is great for getting the shots of the real stars of the day, the kids!
Packages are available from only £299 & with my top package you also get a free pre wedding photoshoot at the location of your choice, free printed photo book & a free A3 canvas print of your choice either from the pre wedding shoot or from your wedding photographs.
Previous customers have booked their wedding photography with Our Day Photos well in advance, I’m now well into taking bookings for 2016 & 2017 so don’t hang about!
Today I had the pleasure of being the official photographer for the Commonweath Baton’s arrival in Balfron. It was a fantastic day & the weather went against the forecast with the sun splitting the skies all day. Here is Angus hepburn & David Eckersley who were both runners with the torch.
More pics can be seen on my facebook page or on the Balfron Community Council FB page.
